Skydance Paramount Set to Remove Nearly 2,000 United States Roles – Report
Paramount Skydance is scheduled to initiate significant workforce reductions during the week starting 27 October, removing nearly 2,000 positions in the United States under a cost-cutting plan totaling $2bn led by top executive David Ellison.
The workforce reduction come after the merger between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, finalized in August with a value of $8.4bn.
Further global layoffs are expected, with the company intending to reveal complete information during its third-quarter financial update set for the 10th of November.
Previous updates suggested that Paramount aimed to reduce between 2,000 to 3,000 jobs before the start of November.
As of December 2024, the organization employed almost 18,600 workers on full-time and part-time contracts and 3,500 temporary project employees.
The company has not yet commented regarding the report.
