Chopper Twirls Out of Control into Palm Fronds at Frequented California Coast
An aircraft soaring above a well-attended California shoreline suddenly commenced twirling uncontrollably, finally descending rapidly and plunging into a line of palm groves as onlookers watched.
Footage posted on the internet depict the helicopter starting to spin over Huntington Beach then descending towards the edge of the shore, where it gets stuck between palms and a set of stairs close to the shoreline route.
Rescue Operation Update
Local firefighters said five persons were taken to hospital comprising two who were in the aircraft and were “rescued from the debris” after the accident on Saturday.
Three individuals on the pavement were harmed. Details on their wounds were still under review.
The reason for the accident was not yet disclosed.
